Find Me

Find Me was developed by Fletcher-Watson and colleagues (2016), and was studied on children with ASD aged 15 months to 6 years. This app is developed in a traditional game-like way, with levels of increasing complexity. The child must focus on identifying a human character in a scene, and then use head-turns, eye-gaze direction, and pointing to indicate a target item, which can be touched by the player. This type of game helps children to learn social-communication skills, concentration skills, and focus skills.

The research shows that children show a high level of interest in the app, which is maintained over a considerable period of time (2 months). The study by Fletcher-Watson and colleagues (2016) was given a strength rating of 1 by our quality assessment tool, as neither the blinding process nor controlling of confounding factors were very rigorous.

Unfortunately, Find Me was taken off of the app store earlier this year. We suggest the game Look In My Eyes: Steam Train for your child to practice a similar skill set.
