A study by Whalen and colleagues (2010) analyzed children aged 3-6 and their use of Teach Town. They found that after using Teach Town, some children exhibited higher rates of spontaneous commenting and lower rates of inappropriate language. They also found that more looking and positive affect towards adults were observed while the children were engaging with the computer game, and fewer inappropriate behaviours were seen after the treatment. Due to lack of rigour in the data collection and blinding, this study received a strength rating of 1.
